This 4 days package can help you to utilize your short time while enjoying a variety of memorable experiences. It provides chances to experience mountain gorilla tracking in Bwindi national park and game drives and boat cruises in Queen Elizabeth and chimpanzee trekking in the kalinzu forest. This tour package will begin and end in Kampala or at Entebbe airport.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a spectacular rain-forest park and one of the best destinations in the South-western safari circuit in Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park stretches up to 331sq.km and was established in 1991 as one of the best Uganda National Parks. It is home to over 120 animal species, and primate species including half of all the total population of mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, bird species, butterflies, and other reptiles.4 Days Uganda Safari in Bwindi National Park, you will engage in Mountain Gorilla Trekking and cultural walk in the Batwa Community.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the best and most popular national parks easily accessed and visited for game viewing. It was established on 1978sq.km of land, consisting largely of savanna grassland, acacia trees, and bamboo. Day 1: Transfer to  Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

DAY 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early morning breakfast and start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park passing the Mbarara-Masaka Highway. The drive from Kampala to Bwindi is about 6-8 hours, it seems long but quite interesting. You get to see the beautiful sceneries in the countryside that may prompt you to stop and capture the beautiful moment. You will make a stopover at Kayabwe to have photographs and a look at the Uganda equator statues that demarcate the equator’s path in Uganda

You will have lunch at Igongo cultural center, the big site on Mbarara road that attracts many visitors for its wonderful museum that portrays a lot of western cultures and contains many souvenirs for purchase to keep your memory. Afterward, you will drive straight to the park for check-in.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Grab your early morning breakfast drive heading to the park’s main office for an early briefing that lasts for 30-45 minutes. The briefing is always about the guidelines and procedures to take when you encounter the gorillas, it’s always advised to pack your lunch since the activity is unpredictable, you may spend more hours than usual depending on the movement of the gorillas. Local porters are assigned to help you carry excessive heavy luggage, which may disorganize your trekking since it involves hiking and passing through dense and rugged paths to see mountain gorilla families. the time to spend searching for the great apes will determine where the gorillas feed but usually takes between 2-6 hours.

Upon finding these great apes, you have an ultimate 1-hour for interaction and photography.  After you go back to the main office for your trekking certificates, meet your driver and drive back to the lodge for lunch if you didn’t pack it, take a shower, sign out and embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park which is a tiresome one, therefore, expect to reach late in the evening.

Dinner and overnight will be at Mweya safari lodge (luxury), Enganzi lodge, and kyambura lodge (midrange).

Day 3: Game drive at kasenyi plains and boat cruise at the kazinga channel.

Have breakfast in the morning and set off for a game drive around the kasenyi plains and katwe salt mining area which are common habitats for animals, expect to see wildlife animals like the nocturnal such as hyenas, leopards, and cats that prefer hunting at night and other common animals like savannah elephants, Uganda kobs, giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, and others. After go back to the lodge for lunch and relax a bit as you prepare to engage in the afternoon boat cruise that takes 2-3 hours around the Kazinga channel.

Kazinga channel is the largest inhabitant of wildlife that offers an opportunity to spot both animals and bird species, birds include the migratory and resident birds such as saddle-billed stork, African skimmer, African fish eagle, African skimmer, Chapin’s flycatcher, Shoebill stock, flamingos, and pink-backed pelicans. The water-loving animals that can be seen on a boat cruise on the water shores include buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and elephants. After you will return to the lodge for refreshment and chill.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking to Kalinzu and Departure

Early morning breakfast and set off to Kalinzu Forest office for a briefing on Chimpanzee Tracking. The forest is located a few kilometers from the nearby Queen Elizabeth National Park and it’s one of the best chimpanzee destinations in Uganda. See more chimpanzees and other primate species such as baboons, colobus monkeys, vervets,  birds, and other unique features in the forest managed by the Uganda Forest Authority.

Chimpanzees are very quick and active compared to mountain gorillas,  they prefer residing on top of tree branches, therefore, expect to track them at a high speed and when they are settled you can take pictures and videos. Just Like gorilla trekking, you are given only one hour to interact with them after walking back to the office and start your journey back to Kampala through Mbarara City for a lunch stopover after the driver will continue the journey and drops you at the lodge or directly at the airport for departure.
