1 Day short Gorilla Tour to Bwindi Uganda takes you to a park hosting half of the remaining population of Mountain gorillas. The rest are found in Uganda’s Mgahinga Gorilla Park, Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, and DR Congo’s Virunga National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park in Uganda is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site for its breathtaking green/dense forests and the creatures that live therein.

Bwindi is covered by a large and diverse rainforest that is believed to be over 25,000 years old. Of the 324 tree species, 10 are only found in Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to various mammals including forest antelopes, elephants, baboons, chimpanzees, giant forest hogs. The park also has about 350 recorded species of birds and 200 of butterflies.  Mountain gorillas are the main attraction in the park. About half of the remaining population of mountain gorillas in the world are found in Bwindi. There are 24 habituated gorilla families recorded

Many international tourists come to Bwindi to take part in one of the most fascinating gorilla trekking experiences. The park is divided into four sectors that is Buhoma, Nkuringo, Rushaga, and Ruhija. Each sector has habituated gorilla groups and the office. Bwindi impenetrable national park is perfect for gorilla trekking because it has more gorilla families than Volcanoes National Park or Virunga National Park. Gorilla permits in Bwindi cost $700.

This 1 day gorilla trekking tour package to Bwindi forest is designed for clients who may not have enough time to spare but wish to track gorillas in one day. The package is therefore designed for those who are already in Kisoro or Kibale. This will require waking up very early in the morning to start the journey to Bwindi to catch the trekking hours in your designed sector.

Detailed Itinerary

You will wake up very early to have breakfast in your hotel and a driver will pick you up, together with your lunch and other snacks, and transfer you to the park offices for the briefing that usually starts between 7:30 am to 8 am. The briefing is meant to guide you on how to conduct yourself around the gorillas and what to expect during your encounter with the gorillas in their home.

You will be assigned to gorilla groups depending on your overall fitness and preference. There are 24 habituated gorilla families in the park. Be mentally prepared for the trek as it could get tiring and you can spend more hours than expected depending on the location of your assigned gorilla family. Pack the essentials like tracking boots, raincoat, caps, and rain-proof pants. Porters for hire are available to help you carry extra heavy luggage. You will spend an hour with the gorillas for one hour so take as many photos and videos as you can. After your hour elapsed, you will return to the office to claim your certificate that shows you tracked mountain gorillas, and then our guide will pick you up and take you back to your hotel.
